Reactions of Alkenes

In this problem we shall consider eight alkene reactants:
4-methyl-1-pentene     trans-3-hexene     cis-3-hexene     methylenecyclopentane
1-methylcyclopentene     2,3-dimethyl-2-butene     indene     ethylidenecyclohexane

These compounds may be reacted with nine different reagents:

Hydrogen chloride, HCl Bromine, Br2 (i) Mercuric Acetate, Hg(OAc)2
(ii) NaBH4
Potassium Permanganate, KMnO4 Hydrogen, H2
(Pd or Pt catalyst)
Hypobromous Acid, HOBr
(i) Diborane, BH3
(ii) H2O2 in NaOH soln.
Hydrogen Bromide, HBr
(peroxide initiator)
Perbenzoic Acid, C6H5CO3H

Select one alkene from the first group, and one reagent from the second group.
